Jefferson County, Missouri Warrant Search

At their core, warrants are judicial orders directing the police to apprehend a person for an alleged statutory violation or to search a designated premises for criminal evidence. Within the legal system, the most common iterations are search warrants (§ 542.276, RSMo), arrest warrants (Chapter 544 RSMo), and bench warrants. Since warrants are issued by the judiciary, their public dissemination is governed by the Missouri Court Operating Rules, specifically Rule 4.24.

Per Rule 4.24, criminal arrest warrants remain confidential until executed by the police and returned to the court. These writs may occasionally be made public to assist law enforcement efforts in locating a fugitive. For active public warrants, an inquiry can be made to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office or the judicial system.
